Characters

Caitlin: Caitlin is the stereotypical antagonist for a teen angst film, she is popular, selfish and cruel. She is outgoing and confident, which is a stereotypical feature of a teen angst antagonist. We wanted her to be very stereotypical as a character so that the target audience could relate to the film more, as the majority of teenage girls watching our film are likely to know someone with similar feature to Caitlin's character at their own school. This makes them empathise more with Charlotte's character and therefore makes them more engaged and involved in the film. We got Bonny to play the role of Caitlin because she is blonde and pretty which are stereotypical features of the antagonist in a teen
angst. We got the idea of this character from our research of the teen angst; Wild Child. Poppy Moore is the main character and appears spoilt, stuck up and self involved. We copied similar features from her character and used them in Caitlin's. Both characters are represented as childish and confident. We chose Bonny to play this character as she is blonde, pretty and appears stylish.

Charlotte: Charlotte is the protagonist of the film and is quiet, vulnerable and lonely. She spends most of her time alone because she doesn't get on with her sister. She doesn't get into trouble and is a good
student, however is very unhappy; so when she meets Peter, the new boy, she jumps at the chance to finally have a friend and as the film progresses, more than a friend. We got the idea for this character from our research of other teen angsts. This character was based on the main character in mean girls; Cady Heron, when she first moves to North Shore. She appears naïve and innocent, fairly clueless when it comes to what's cool and how to dress, she is also considered an outcast and spends her time alone, like our character Charlotte. I played this character as with brunette hair I fit the idea that the character is plain and boring, also with experience of acting and being on camera I felt fairly confident.

Peter: Peter is the new boy at school, he initially seems scared and quiet but as he grows more
confident his personality is bubbly and outgoing. He is a stereotypical male crush from a teen angst. Tall, white and British, he would attract the teenage female target audience. We also got ideas for this character from our research, this character is mostly based on Freddie from mean girls, they have similar character traits such as; good looks, innocent, and has a genuinely kind personality. However we also based his character on a female character, Cady Heron from mean girls. This is because, like Cady when he is approached by the popular group he is easily influenced and briefly becomes one of them. Danny played the role of Peter as he is good looking, male and appears innocent and kind.

Kyle: Kyle is the mean popular boy at school. Stuck up and spoilt he always has to have the best,
most expensive clothes and is always with a large group of friends. We portrayed this by having his character wear all branded clothing. We got ideas for this character through our research of teen angsts. This character is similar to Elton from Clueless. Elton isn't one of the main characters but he comes across as a rich, stuck-up, selfish jerk. This is what we based Kyle's personality on. Sean played the role of Kyle because he wears a lot of stylish, branded clothing and looks cool and confident.
